Meditation

I have quite a few letters stored up to read and reply to, the reason this takes me a while is that I like to take my time while doing it. Taking a table I will light the fire, take a good bottle of wine, settle down in a luxurious leather chair and carefully read through each letter, sipping the wine while I do and taking careful care to write a reply to each one in slow, careful handwriting. It is important to have these little luxuries and delights in life, and to make things that are otherwise mundane pleasures rather than simply chores.

Unfortunately this does mean I might have a little trouble getting replies out to everyone by the end of the month, but I will do my best.

I should be able to get at least a few written today, after going out for lunch and recovering from last night.

Lucky Seven

So the club is now up to seven members, and more are always welcome. There are members from North America, Africa and Europe. Asia, Australasia, South America and Antartica are still missing, so if there is anyone from there that you know of who might be interested, let them know.

From now on I am going to try and update this more regularly, since I have a vague idea of what I am going to write on here each time I send a letter. As to what that is, you will have to wait and see. It will not be the contents of a letter, though it may be a short piece of background for an individual letter to set the scene before the piece of papyrus itself arrives.

Inaugaration

Well here we go, the first post to be put up on this blog. I really do not know what I will use this for, except perhaps to keep people updated on when letters arrive and are sent. If anyone wants me to put up a letter they send on here, then simply let me know and I will do, but I will not be putting copies of my own on here. That would rather go against the idea of the thing.

For anyone who does not know about the Red Letter Club, basically it is a group of people who have given me their addresses, and in return I send letters. The letters can contain anything, poems, stories, random thoughts, a single quote I like, a picture of something, absolutely anything I feel like including. If you like the idea and want to join, simply drop me an e-mail and include your address. Feel free to request something specific, but I cannot guarantee you will get it.

There are no rules of the club as such, its nothing so complicated. If you want me to stop writing, simply say so, if you want to rant about a letter, say so. Despite what it may seem I am doing this more for me than for anyone else. This is a fairly selfish enterprise, which other people are welcome to enjoy.

If you do join, and you blog or have a website, and feel like announcing you are a member, then there is a picture which you can use to link back. Or use your own. Or anything you want really.
